About Walking Man and Norwine Behavioral Health Advocates (NBHA)
Mark Norwine and his son, Eric, began NBHA in 2015. They have presented their documentary, Walking Man, across the country in schools, at community events, and at conferences. Their inspiring message of hope and love has been viewed by thousands who are searching for their own mental wellness, and through programs and presentations they hope to inspire many more. In addition to screening the film, NBHA offers consulting services and trainings, a comprehensive mental health curriculum, and professional development opportunities.
Mark Norwine, The Walking Man, is a nationally recognized behavioral health advocate. As a certified peer specialist and Olweus Bullying Prevention trainer, Mark has educated and presented in over 75 schools across the United States.
Mark graduated from the University of Missouri - Columbia in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education degree, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Learning Disabilities from the University of Missouri - St. Louis. After teaching for five years at the high school level, Mark ventured into the private sector for fifteen years before returning to his true passion: educating youth. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in counseling.
Mark has been married for thirty years to his beautiful and patient wife, Lisa. They have three wonderful children that have each grown up to be fantastic young adults. He loves St. Louis Cardinals baseball, wildlife, and most importantly, spending time with family and friends.
